1G, 2G, 3G...4G??

After the invention of the mobile phone, Japan launched the first commercially automated cellular network, known as the 1G generation, in 1979 by the NTT network. By the early 1980s, nearly seventy countries adapted the 1G network.

About ten years later, the "modern" network technology on digital 2G cellular technology was launched in 1991 in Finland by Radiolinja (which is now part of the Elisa Group).

In 2001, Japan's NTT DoCoMo launched the 3G network. Application services of the 3rd Generation network included the basics such as wide-area voice telephone and more innovative functions such as mobile internet access, video calls and mobile TV, which is commonly used in Europe, Japan and China.

In the recent, the 4th Generation of network was launched. This 4G network allows even faster internet access then the 3G network, giving users even better entertainment though their phones.
